Nicaraguan war left approximately 50,000 dead and 150,000 Nicaraguans in exile. The civil society remained unstable, even hundreds of thousands Nicaraguans remained armed, creating violent environment among the people. The war lasted more than a decade and it seriously weakened its economy.
