A. The function of meristematic cells is to divide and so they don't require vacuoles whose function is to store waste food and water.

B. The sclerenchymatous tissue is used in plants to provide strengths and not flexibility, intercellular spaces would provide flexibility and not strength which is what the tissue is for.
