When we listen to political speeches, we should use?

Our brains to analyze the politician's changes in tone as he reads his speech while analyzing the possible multiple truths of his choice of wording for his speech. Political speeches are always written in an attempt to garner an emotional response from the listener/audience in our to prompt support toward that speaker.
