From what I read, I know that Captain Jaggery takes the whip from Charlotte and beats Zachariah. Zachariah is death from the beaten. So the crewmembers cut down Zachariah's lifeless body and carry his body to the forecastle. While Charlotte throws up over the side of the ship.
