Trapezoid Area =

[ ( Sum of the rules ) × ( height ) ] ÷ 2

Area = [ ( 6 + 12 ) × 8 ] ÷ 2

Area = [ 18 × 8 ] ÷ 2

Area = ( 18/2 ) × 8

Area = 9 × 8

Area = 72
