how do you solve 48 divided by 3 using distributive property

48 divided by 3 equals 16. If you multiply 16x3 the answer will be 16.

Well 48 breaks into 40 and 8. So, 40 divided by 3 is 13 remainder 1 and 8 divided by 3 is 2 remainder 2. 13+3=16. Do not add the remainders. 16 times three is 48 just to check the answer
