3(2k - 2) = -2(4k - 11)

Multiply out

3*2k - 3*2 = -2*4k -2*-11

6k - 6 = -8k + 22

Carry over like terms

6k + 8k = 22 + 6

14k = 28

Divide by 14, to get k

k = 28/14

k = 2

I hope this explains it.
