  • if we don't know anything about x,and x equals to a. We can say   |x| = a and  |-x| = a....

|a| + |b + c| =  |-4| + |2 + (-7)|

|-4| = -(-4) = +4

|2 + (-7)| = |-5|

|-5| = -(-5) = +5

4 + 5 = 9
