The speed in Escape Velocity.
This is the speed which the object must exceed to escape the influence of the gravity of the planet. Once this speed is exceeded the object is no longer the influence of the gravity of the planet.
For Planet Earth, the speed is ≈ 11 km/s, once this is exceeded the object has no tendency to fall back to the Earth. It begins to float in space.
